Abstract

In this article I examine the idea of “social and political consciousness” presented by Fanon inhis writings, particularly those produced in the context of freedom struggles in Africa, in orderto discuss the class dimensions of the anticolonial struggle. Then I argue for the timelinessof that debate in the context of the contemporary social sciences in general and antiraciststruggles in particular.
