Abstract

The study analyzes the results and impacts of a partnership between the City of Conceição do Mato Dentro and the Association of Recyclable Collectors (ASCAMATO), focusing on the social, environmental and economic benefits of a public recycling policy. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the work evaluates this initiative through qualitative and documentary research, based on ASCAMATO's financial statements and data from the city hall's Transparency Portal. With originality and relevance, the study highlights the importance of local partnerships and the use of detailed data to exemplify good practices in sustainability policies. The results show improvements in internal processes, such as inventory control and reduced production times, culminating in a performance evaluation system. The social and management contributions highlight the complexity and importance of recycling policies, offering a practical and applicable model for other communities that wish to promote sustainability through waste management.

Nálbia de Araújo Santos, PhD and Master in Controllership and Accounting from FEA-USP. Audit Specialist from PUC/MG. Bachelor of Accounting Sciences from the State University of Montes Claros. She is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). She is a Professor in the Postgraduate Program in Administration (PPGAdm), with a concentration in Public Administration, at UFV. He has experience in the area of ​​Public Auditing.

Suely de Fátima Ramos Silveira, Universidade Federal de Viçosa

Suely de Fátima Ramos Silveira, PhD in Applied Economics from ESALq/University of São Paulo and Master in Rural Economics from the Federal University of Viçosa. Graduated in Economic Sciences from the Federal University of Viçosa and Director of the Institute of Public Policies and Sustainable Development (IPPDS)(2012-2016). Member of the National Association of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Administration (ANPAD) and Topic Leader of the APB Academic Division of ANPAD in the 2015-2018 biennium. She is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). He has experience in the area of ​​Administration, working mainly in the Public Policies research line, with research in the thematic areas: Public Administration; Public Policies; Agenda, Formulation, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Policies; Development. He also has experience in preparing and evaluating projects and financial analysis.
