Machado de Assis e Gustave Flaubert: do comparatismo possível a um comparatismo desejado

Abstract

This text was originally presented in a workshop dedicated to the discussion that concearns the critical balance of the relationship between Brazil and France in the congress of the International Comparative Literature Association in 2013. This study’s aim is to present the context from which I propose a comparative studies' project between Machado de Assis e Gustave Flaubert from a brief presentation of studies already made and the ones that are currently in progress.
