Abstract

The confidence in democratic institutions, as well as their own social confidence, it is essential to the consolidation of a full democracy. It is precisely through the indices of institutional confidence that we can analyze the consolidation of a political regime. This article focuses on the perception of political institutions with respect to institutional confidence of brazilians throughout 2009 and 2015. Based on this analysis, it was found a low rate of institutional confidence, a fact that helps explain the lack of legitimacy of political elites, in addition to providing support to understand the process of impeachment occurred in 2016. Nevertheless, the findings indicate the necessity of making political institutions more democratic and reliable to the citizen, so that, in this way, become honest and forward to civil society; only then can you speak in a democracy fully consolidated and healthy.
