Taiwan Arch Bridge Collapses, At Least 10 Injured As Divers Search For Possible Victims

Authorities search for survivors after the 460-foot bridge collapsed in the coastal fishing village of Nanfangao. The Nanfangao Bridge, located in Nanfangao, a tiny but crowded Pacific coast fishing village in eastern Taiwan, caved in around 9:30 a.m., officials said. Ten people were sent to the hospital — six with serious injuries, authorities said. Six people were believed to be trapped in a fishing boat that was in the water below the bridge when it collapsed, according to the National Fire Agency. Possibly five people were thought to be on the bridge when it collapsed, Taiwan's Interior Minister Hsu Kuo-yung said. The Nanfangao Bridge in eastern Taiwan collapsed around 9:30 a.m. The 460-foot bridge collapsed hours after a typhoon hit the island, despite it being sunny and the weather appearing to be fine. Disaster relief officials would not say if the storm had weakened the bridge or give other details on the potential cause. Taiwan president [] Tsai Ing-wen said she hoped all government departments would do everything possible to save people and "keep the number of deaths and injuries as low as possible," government-run Central News Agency reported. Of the 10 people hospitalized, six are Filipinos and three are Indonesians, the fire agency said in a statement. People from both countries regularly work on fishing boats registered in Taiwan, where pay is better than in their home countries. The center of Typhoon Mitag passed east of Taiwan on Monday night and early Tuesday, but the outer winds gusting up to 85 mph affected the island before the storm moved to the northeast. The storm injured 12 people, felled trees, damaged vehicles and caused power outages around the island. Nanfangao Bridge is a tourist attraction in Yilan. It was opened in 1998 and was built to replace a lower bridge that prevented large fishing vessels from passing underneath.

The varied and complex causes of heart attacks, and the distinctions of the causes for the 25 through 54 group, mandate that varied and sophisticated measures are needed to reduce these deaths. We do not, however, have extensive or detailed debate on stemming the toll of deaths from these medical conditions. Do we need more research? Would public efforts to change personal habits and diet prove effective? Should we regulate suspect components of food, and how critical a role does control of environment contaminants play? Does our current medical system properly diagnose heart (and cancer) conditions and effectively deliver preventive and reactive cures? Given the current media slant to the unique and emotionally compelling (and the overwhelming, but understandable, emphasis of corporate advertising on their products), such a debate has not readily broken through to be a regular feature of media news reporting. But through our collective individual awareness, we hopefully could move the debate up a few notches. Consider a final scenario. Imagine every adult received such a briefing, across the country, in all the towns and cities and states. Maybe individuals would begin to ignore the briefing, but maybe, and I would judge very likely, the national discussion would shift, as would our individual actions. Death stalks us all. The media reports for us the doors through which many horrific causes of death enter our world.

When working on manifesting remember to keep your mind open as to how it is going to appear in your life. For example, many of us may want to manifest more money. We have a mental program that says, "more money means I have to work more". This is not necessarily true. You might manifest more money from a promotion, a raise at work, a change of job or career, from a competition win, an inheritance, and many other ways. You need to be open to this because if you mentally limit the ways the Universe can provide to you then it is going to be much harder for what you want to come into your life. Listen to your intuition too because it will help guide you. You might get the urge to buy a newspaper suddenly. You buy it and notice the exact car you want for sale in it. Our intuition is from our higher self and will guide us if we listen to it.

You can use decrees, affirmations, and positive visualisation to help you create what you want in your universe. This does not just have to be limited to material items, but you can work on bringing more love, more joy and many other things into your life and the lives of those around you. When you are working on manifesting things such as these into your life look to the root cause of what you are lacking. For example, you might feel you are lacking love in your life. Examine the cause and you might see it is because of a lack of self-worth or self-love, or because of something in your childhood. Once you are aware of why you can work on dealing with the issue and healing yourself. Then you will find it much easier to bring, and to keep, what you desire in your life. Another exercise you can do to help you manifest is to realise the abundance of the universe. Abundance will be the subject of another article, and is dealt with fully within the course, but take a walk outside some time and look at how abundant nature is. See how freely nature gives and how much is given. Think about this and how abundance can be a part of your life. Jason is a personal coach, dedicated to achieving success for his clients. One of the easiest and most unique ideas for a birth announcement, is to mock-up your own newspaper page. Even if you don't have a desktop publishing package, many word processing programs allow you to set up columns, so your page looks more like a newspaper article. Make sure you use an old fashioned style font for the majority of your text (good old courier works well), and a clear block font for your headlines. Then write the arrival of baby in the format of a newspaper article. If you click on the example to the left you'll get some good ideas. Mock interviews with the new dad for example, with quotes like "I didn't feel a thing," add some humor that will make your birth announcement stand out from the crowd. Add some authenticity with a textured crumpled paper background, or even use a different paper color such as pink or blue, to give it more of a baby feel.
