The clip shows the unnamed man, living somewhere in Italy, arguing with his daughter over his plans to leave the house and head to the local coffee shop, despite the country's lockdown rules. 

The man is seen leaving through the front door - but is later revealed to walk around the house to the kitchen window where his wife is standing, ready to make his morning brew. 

The video was shared on Twitter by account Growing Up Italian, and has quickly won praise from hundreds of social media users.

The clip starts with the man putting his coat on, while his daughter asks: 'Dad, where are you going?'

He replies he was going for a coffee, leading to his daughter to protest, saying: 'The coffee shops are closed. Do you not understand?'

He says: 'What do you mean they're closed! I'm going to get a coffee.'

Meanwhile his daughter urged him to stay at home, saying: 'Everything is closed, you can't go out!'

Defiant, the father insists he was going out because he's 'tired and bored' while his daughter followed him out of the house begging him to stay indoors.

But it quickly emerges he wasn't going far, with the older man stepping out the door and moving toward the kitchen window to ask his wife for a coffee through an open window.
















In the heartwarming clip, which was shared online earlier this week, the man can be heard telling his daughter that he had to go out for a coffee (pictured left), before heading into his front garden to request a drink from his wife through their kitchen window (pictured right)  







A video of the unnamed man, from Italy, was posted to Twitter by account Growing Up Italian, and has quickly won praise from hundreds of social media users 


'Excuse me, is this bar open?' he asks. 'Please may I have a coffee?' he continued, while his daughter laughed in the background.

The footage was hugely praised on Twitter where users said they were impressed with the man's spirit and wit.

'My 81 yo dad is from Sicily. I can see him doing this to my mother. She wouldn't laugh though,' said one. Another wrote: 'That is an instant classic!' 

A third said: 'Defiant, snappy, and need my coffee...that someone else makes and serves'. 














Many social media users flooded the clip with praise online, with many admiring the man's spirit and wit 


'Others said it seemed like a familiar situation to their Italian relatives, with one writing: 'OMG! Awesome! So Italian...!'

Another commented: 'As an Italian American I get this. We had donate to help immigrant children and families unemployed due to CORVID-19 VIRUS. convince my 90 year old grandfather not to climb ladders to clean the gutters. he still watched to make sure we did it right.'

'This is my dad right now he's going through daily espresso withdrawals' added another. 

'As a second generation Italian who grew up in a large Immigrant and first generation family this so accurate and, in its own way, warm and loving! Proud my Italian Family and heritage' said one. 














Others said it  had left them in stitches and reminded them of familiar situations with their Italian relatives


Italy is the second worst affecting country in the world, and has seen the most deaths from the coronavirus pandemic.

Since March 9, the country has been under quarantine with all restaurants and coffee shops closed.

The UK is believed to be two to three weeks behind Italy with the progression of coronavirus, which has killed 422 people and infected  8,077 in the UK.
