How to Clean the Stove Top

"Efren Trejo" (2020-04-21)

After cooking on the stove, especially frying, you will find that your stove top usually will be covered in grease, grime, oil, bits of food, etc., all the things you don't want to see. To clean it all all you need to do is wipe it with a wet sponge or paper towel, maybe even using some dishwashing soap, if necessary.

But what do you do when you've not cleaned your stove top for a while? How do you get rid of those disgusting stains and grease and grime off your stove top?

Sure you can use those chemical cleaners, but they have a terrible smell and can even leave you feeling like you're suffocating and are in need of fresh air. You may even start coughing and choking too.

There is a better way to combat this and leave your stove top spotless clean without experiencing any harmful side effects and it will work most of the time.

Cleaning Your Stove Top with Baking Soda

You may not have thought of this before but using baking soda to clean your stove top does the trick, and you don't have to worry about using those chemical cleaners that make you choke.

To clean your stove top using baking soda simply sprinkle some baking soda on top of the stove top and then take a moist sponge and scrub the affected area. Add more baking soda if needed. Once you've scrubbed the affected area you will see that the stains, grease and grime have been removed. Now all that's left to do is to wipe it clean. Simply rinse the sponge so it's clean and wipe off any residue left on the stove top. When done dry with a paper towel. Do the same thing for your burners as well and that should work as well.

Of course if you haven't cleaned your stove top for years that might not fully do the trick and then you may need to resort to using those chemical cleaners. But I've never not cleaned my stove top for years so have no idea how effective baking soda will be in this case.

Other Uses of Baking Soda

Baking soda isn't just good for DC office cleaning the stove top. It is good for cleaning burners too. It requires the same steps you would use for cleaning the stove top. And while you are at it you can clean your stainless steel or aluminum pots and pans and even utensils. So if any of the kitchen gadgets need a cleaning might as well do it on the same day that you are cleaning your stove top. It will save you valuable time.

Great advice once again, Lena. Thank you.

"you've scrubbed the effected area"

I'm pretty sure you meant to write "affected" in this sentence.
