Abstract

In dentistry, spirituality is not yet covered in research. In this study, it is proposed to presente the teaching project “Espiritualidade e Odontologia: um atendimento mais humanizado” – which seeks to bring Dentistry students closer to a more humanized view of the patient and the role of spirituality in the health-disease process. Through the project, an understanding of the humanistic view has been obtained within dentistry, a more humane and comprehensive dental health, respecting and exploring its singularity. The project contributes to understanding the space between humanized treatment and spirituality, seeks to instigate a unique knowledge for students, to know how it is possible to talk about spirituality with the patient, given better clinical care.
