The importance of the course "research projects in science of religion" initiated by José J. Queiroz

Master's students in the Study of Religion at PUC-SP must take the course “Research Projects in Religious Studies” in the first semester. This mandatory discipline was institutionalized by Professor José J. Queiroz and has been, since then, an important item of the program's curriculum. This essay appreciates this legacy in the light of Alfred Schütz's epistemological theorems, which underscore the importance of the subject for the training of new generations in the field of the academic study of religion.
