Abstract

By the approach of material culture, this article reflects on some aspects in the daily life of the inhabitants of Fortaleza City from 1945 to 1965. Through the analysis of refrigerator advertisements, it is possible a better understanding about the set of expectations and fears, values and gestures produced by a certain society, which are prolonged by the existence of technical objects.
