This research, the result of an undergraduate research project developed in 2024 and 2025, sought to examine the material culture of the florentine Renaissance at the end of the 16th century through the analysis of Michel de Montaigne's Journal de Voyage en Italie par la Suisse et l'Allemagne (1580-1581). From Montaigne's perspective, the research focuses on detailing the diary, highlighting all analyses related to the observation of material culture in the florentine Renaissance and, consequently, to the conflicts and dynamics between classes in the modern era, seeking to correlate these elements and, in effect, understand the daily disputes of the time.
