This text concerns about Castelo Branco’s death on the viewpoint of popular poets. Among at least 10 texts available in the popular literature we mainly focused our attention on two texts written by José Francisco Soares and Expedito Sebastião da Silva. By analizing these authors we discuss the Castelo Branco’s death and the understanding about the Brazilian dictatorship started in 1964 on the point of view of the popular poets. The popular texts are means of comunication between popular poets and the community. The Castelo Branco’s death is an episode that allows us to revisit the Brazilian dictatorship started in 1964, where the authoritarianism is the key for its understandig.Downloads
