Abstract

The ocean has become in this century a frontier of economic expansion. Many countries already have development strategies focused on the ocean. Brazil is late in this process. This work seeks to be a first step.  The first measurement of the Brazilian economy of the sea was carried out through an input-output matrix. The result shows that the country possesses an enormous potential, but that it is under-exploited due to the absence of a development strategy directed towards the ocean
