At work I intend to develop a short life journey of Brother William Butler op, emphasizing basic choices for which he devoted his life to preaching the mystery of God through art, demonstrating the freedom of the Spirit in their aesthetic choice and the way inserted in the construction of national identity in the early twentieth century. From the analysis of some of his writings and art criticism, I will develop an outline of theological hermeneutics called “Mystical landscape” of Butler, as was described aptly by critics of the time, to stop reading any of his works in which the author invites us, through the aesthetic and symbolic language, to an indefinite ascent towards God.Downloads
