A MAGIA NAS REDUÇÕES JESUÍTICAS NO BRASIL COLONIAL

As transformações da modernidade trouxeram as conquistas de novas terras, a dominação de gentios e a clareza da necessidade de a Igreja Católica impor-se ante a Reforma Protestante através da difusão da sua doutrina e da sua fé. A introdução da Missão Jesuítica, como processo motor de consolidação religiosa para a conversão dos gentios (índios), fez com que os jesuítas conhecessem novas culturas, muitas vezes apropriando-se delas. Ao mesmo tempo, a influência de “novas culturas” pôde induzir novas práticas, conduzindo padres a serem considerados como líderes xamânicos. As missões fundamentadas organizaram e catequizaram os índios, como os guaranis, mas o real interesse da Igreja Católica permanece obscuro em todo o seu processo. Porém, o poder político, econômico e religioso fez consolidar em terras brasileiras a cultura europeia.Downloads
