No presente ensaio, pretendemos analisar a condição da mulher no século XIX, na Europa, e seus destinos já traçados – o convento ou o casamento –, usando como objeto uma figura da realidade, Thérèse de Lisieux, e outra, da Literatura, Emma Bovary. A essas duas figuras juntamos uma, da dramaturgia de Nelson Rodrigues, Alaíde, de Vestido de Noiva. A proximidade dessas mulheres é maior do que poderíamos imaginar: através da idéia de sujeito, que se constrói no século XIX, percebemos como elas são “não sujeitos”, incapacitadas de exercer suas verdadeiras vocações, vivenciando uma vida plena. O dualismo presente no coquetismo também nos guia, verticalizando a análise psicológica.Downloads
