Quem são Teresa de Lisieux e Madame de Bovary? O artigo relata a história de amor dessas duas mulheres do século XIX: Teresa, a carmelita morta ainda menina e Bovary, personagem burguesa do romance de Gustave Flaubert. Para mostrar a evolução dessas vidas, foi preciso voltar ao século XII, quando surgem o amor cortês e a poesia lírica. Nesse período, a mulher tem uma ascensão, que se reflete nas relações amorosas entre os sexos. Um salto de um século e pronto: uma breve apresentação do pensamento dos Pais da Igreja sobre a mulher e o sexo. Eles pregam o dualismo entre carne e espírito. As mulheres eram a carne e os homens o espírito, ou seja, os últimos estavam predestinados a governar as primeiras. Por fim, é feita uma rápida análise da obra de arte e do romance moderno, na visão de Ítalo Calvino e de outros autores. Teresa e Ema relatam, em uma “entrevista”, o que pensam de amor, liberdade, infância, dinheiro e feminismo.Downloads
