O presente artigo tem o objetivo de analisar o fenômeno da Santa Muerte por uma perspectiva psicológica. O texto recorre aos poucos pesquisadores sobre a Santa Muerte e aos seus devotos oferecendo uma síntese sobre o assunto. Aborda a definição da Santa, sua origem, quem são os seus devotos e os rituais, assim como o impacto que ela teve na igreja católica mexicana e no Estado.
