Abstract

ABSTRACT: The book "The Order of Discourse," published in 1971, stems from debates revolving around the construction of discourse in the social sphere and the access to power that legitimates it, aiming to address the plurality of discourse's reach. The author explores several central themes that fluctuate between discursive analysis and sophist philosophy. The work, in turn, is an account of the inaugural lecture at the Collège de France delivered by Michel Foucault in the early 1970s.
