A CENOGRAFIA LITERÁRIA PÓS-MODERNA EM SALVAR O FOGO DE ITAMAR VIEIRA JUNIOR

Abstract

This article analyzes the constitution of postmodern literary scenography in Salvar o fogo, by Itamar Vieira Júnior, focusing on the constitutive interactivity of the enunciator in the pursuit of self-knowledge and the legitimation of literary discourse amid contemporary identity fluidity. The study draws on key authors such as Bauman (1998, 2021), Lacan (1998), and Maingueneau (2015, 2018, 2020, 2025) to guide reflections on identity, truth, and discourse. Findings reveal that the multiplicity of voices, the fragmentation of the subject, and the ongoing reconstruction of identities configure a “liquid ethos,” which displaces the notion of a single truth and calls upon the reader to take on the role of co-enunciator. In this process, literary discourse incorporates memory, the unconscious, and interdiscursivity in order to legitimize itself through openness to multiple truths.
