A importância da Estatística na vida profissional de futuros engenheiros de produção

O presente trabalho objetiva apresentar alguns indícios sobre as possíveis contribuições da Educação Estatística para turmas de Engenharia de Produção. Foi utilizada a análise de conteúdos no estudo de respostas dadas a um questionário de levantamento de perfil estudantil, aplicado aos sujeitos de uma turma que cursa a disciplina de Introdução à Estatística, na graduação em Engenharia de Produção de uma Instituição Federal de Ensino da Grande Vitória, ES. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo e a partir dos dados obtidos procurou-se verificar como os estudantes percebem na Estatística um elemento capaz de influenciar a atuação sociopolítica do futuro Engenheiro. Ao final são apresentados aspectos sociais e políticos ligados ao ensino de Estatística em Cursos de Engenharia.

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to present some evidence on the possiblility of contributions of Statistics Education in the formation of production engineers. The content analysisof content was usedin the study of responses to a surveyquestionnaire on the profile of the students, applied to a class who attends the subject Introduction to Statistics, a graduation course in Production Engineering from a Federal Education Institution in Espírito Santo, Brazil.The research is a qualitative study and from the data obtained, it was examined how students face Statisticsl as an element able to influence the sociopolitical role of the future engineer. At the end aspects of social and political teaching of Statistics in Engineering Courses are presented.
