Fraqueza muscular respiratória compromete a capacidade de exercício em pacientes com fibromialgia

Resumo


Introdução: a Fibromialgia (FM) é uma síndrome reumática complexa, com acometimento muscular esquelético. Entretanto, ainda é incerto se a musculatura respiratória apresentaria tais limitações. Objetivo: comparar a força e a resistência muscular respiratória e esquelética de mulheres com FM a mulheres saudáveis. Método: 15 voluntárias com FM - grupo GF - (50 ± 11 anos) e 10 mulheres saudáveis - grupo GC - (48 ± 11 anos) realizaram avaliação clínica, teste de força muscular esquelética e respiratória e teste de resistência muscular esquelética e respiratória, teste de caminhada de seis minutos e teste do degrau. Resultados: os grupos foram homogêneos quanto às variáveis demográficas e antropométricas. A força muscular respiratória foi significativamente menor no GF (46 ± 6 cmHO) quando 2 comparado ao GC (80 ± 8 cmHO; p < 0,05). Da mesma 2 maneira, o GF apresentou menor resistência muscular esquelética (71 ± 8 vs 167 ± 24 repetições; p < 0,05) e respiratória (29 ± 4 vs 56 ± 6 repetições; p < 0,05) em relação ao GC. O GC apresentou maior distância percorrida no teste de caminhada (551 ± 36 vs 460 ± 86 m; p < 0,05) e maior número de degraus subidos (102 ± 9 vs 76 ± 13 degraus; p < 0,05). Somente no GF houve correlação entre a força muscular esquelética e a força da musculatura respiratória (r = 0,64; p < 0,001). Conclusão: mulheres com FM apresentam diminuição da força e resistência muscular respiratória, o que pode comprometer a tolerância ao exercício nesta população.
