Abstract

The article proposes a reflection on the practices of improvisation, both in everyday life, where improvisation is necessary to reorient a situation in the face of an unexpected event, and in the creative sphere, particularly in jazz performance, where improvisation responds to a specific system of expectations. There, instead of resolving or negating the discontinuity created by the unexpected, it rather aims at making it aesthetically “productive” by keeping open and continuously relaunching the discontinuity itself in a process of negation and affirmation. Starting from this reflection, the article also proposes a rearticulation of the model of the interaction regimes developed by E. Landowski by suggesting the idea of programmed adjustments.
