Abstract

This article seeks to analyze the issue of hunger for dignity in Brazil from an analysis of social control through the economy, as well as the capitalist and neoliberal discourse on economic development. The problem that guides the research can be summarized in the following question: To what extent does economic development following liberal or neoliberal theories affect the poorest population? Based on the data collected from a set of research carried out on the subject in the areas of Law, Anthropology and Sociology, reflected from the bibliography that supports the present study, it becomes possible to affirm that the current development model promotes the poverty, inequality, eliminates rights and dignity itself. The general objective of the text is to evaluate how neoliberal economic development ends up being fed by the misery of the population. The specific objectives of the text, which are reflected in its structure in three sections, are: a) To assess, based on studies already carried out in the field of Law, Anthropology and Sociology, the current state of economic development chosen and implemented in Brazil; b) Clarify how this development increases inequalities; c) Explain the incongruity of such a model. The research method used was the hypothetical-deductive, through the use of bibliographic and documental research technique.

He holds a Post-Doctorate in Latin American Environmental Geopolitics from USACH - University of Santiago de Chile (2018), a PhD in Environment and Development from the Federal University of Paraná (2009), a Master's in Law from UNISC - University of Santa Cruz do Sul (2002), degree in Law from the Regional University of the Northwest of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (1998) Training in Philosophy from the University of Passo Fundo (1992), degree in Theology from the Instituto de Teologia e Pastoral de Passo Fundo (1989). Professor at UNIJUI - Regional University of the Northwest of the State of Rio Grande do Sul in undergraduate courses in Law, Master's and Doctorate in Human Rights, Professor of the Master's Degree in Environmental Systems and Sustainability - UNIJUI. He works in the field of Law, with an emphasis on Environmental Law on topics such as socio-environmental conflicts, sustainable society, environmental legislation, public policy management and regional development Environmental Geopolitics, Agenda 2030 and the SDGs. Coordinator of the research group 'Human Rights, Social Justice and Sustainability, Health and Sustainability. Researcher at the Socio-Environmental Systems, Sustainable Societies and Interdisciplinary Project and at the COMPARTE/UE Project - with the Universities of Madrid, Barcelona, Girona and the University of Managua. He has worked as a UN-Habitat Consultant since 2003 in different projects and countries in Latin America.
