Resumo

O câncer de cabeça e pescoço é constituído por uma variedade de tumores que se originam em diferentes regiões, como orofaringe, cavidade nasal, cavidade oral, faringe, entre outros. A incidência mundial do câncer de cabeça e pescoço ultrapassa meio milhão de indivíduos por ano, o que o coloca como o quinto tumor mais comum. O objetivo deste artigo é descrever os principais conceitos de anatomia, patologia, fatores de risco, quadro clínico e diagnóstico do câncer de orofaringe.
