Novos aspectos diagnósticos da doença celíaca

Resumo


A doença celíaca é uma intolerância permanente ao glúten caracterizada por inflamação da mucosa, atrofia vilosa e hiperplasia das criptas do intestino delgado, com consequente má-absorção nutricional em indivíduos geneticamente suscetíveis. Sua prevalência varia de 0,5% a 5,6% em diferentes regiões. Tendo em vista ainda haver discussões quanto ao seu diagnóstico, os autores relatam neste artigo as atualizações na literatura sobre o diagnóstico clínico e laboratorial da doença celíaca.
