This article examines the syllabic theory developed by Ferdinand de Saussure as a model that, being built at the level of expression, allows for a reflection about the role that accent plays in language content. A flow of various rising and decreasing levels of tonicity is conceived, expressing a regular rhythm of the human sense. We deal here with an analytical accent, since it can be subdivided and examined in each of those gradual phases which serve as a reference point for our appreciation of daily phenomena. This study is based on the principles formulated by C. Zilberberg’s tensive semiotics.
