Du fil au fragment. Crise de régime médiatique

Abstract

This article questions the practice consisting in “following the news” : after the contemporary transformations of the media, does one actually continue to “follow the news” ? Whereas the narrative organisation of mediatic discourse until recently encouraged to do so, the formats and the coherence of the mediatic text have blown to pieces under the effect of the non-linear new forms generated by digital technology. Mediatic discourse as a meaninful totality, shared by a large audience, is now segmented in heterogeneous and discontinuous fragments under the pressure of algorithms, rendering more and more hypothetic the acquisition of a consistent vision of current affairs.
