As menções ao “livro da vida” na Bíblia
um estudo teológico e introdutório

A Bíblia cita a outros livros, dentre eles o “Livro da Vida”, uma de suas menções recebe papel considerável no livro do Apocalipse (Ap 21:27), como pode ser conferido a seguir: “Nela, nunca jamais penetrará coisa alguma contaminada, nem o que pratica abominação e mentira, mas somente os inscritos no Livro da Vida [βιβλίῳ τῆς ζωῆς] do Cordeiro”. Esse que é chamado de o “Livro da Vida” (βίβλῳ τῆς ζωῆς, bibliō tēs zōēs), que também aparece em Apocalipse 20:15, é apresentado como sendo peça importante no julgamento final, pois segundo o escritor bíblico, nele estariam registrados os nomes de todos aqueles que serão salvos. Nesse contexto, existiriam na Bíblia subsídios que possam auxiliar no conhecimento da natureza, significado e funções teológicas desse livro? Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo recapitular os principais textos da Bíblia que mencionam tal livro, observando-se possíveis apontamentos contextuais sobre sua natureza, significado e funções teológicas. Esse breve estudo será desenvolvido à luz do método de abordagem gramático-histórico-canônico de interpretação bíblica, aliado ao método de pesquisa de revisão bibliográfica. Serão realizados esforços para (1) identificar os principais textos do Antigo Testamento que mencionam o “Livro da Vida”, observando-se possíveis noções sobre sua natureza e funções teológicas; em seguida o mesmo intento será reproduzido na tentativa de (2) identificar os principais textos do Novo Testamento que mencionariam este livro. E, por fim, (3) serão recapituladas as principais perspectivas teológicas sobre a natureza, significado e função do livro da vida, no meio cristão e adventista. Ao final é possível destacar noções sobre a natureza, significado e funções teológicas desse livro.
