Society has sufficient knowledge of its current worldly problems; nevertheless, it continues to see and treat human beings as something of secondary importance, and it’s so because it continues to orient itself solely according to the laws of efficacy and productiveness, following a cultural individualism that embraces peoples and countries. This situation has been worsened by the pandemics, threatening the lives of millions. The Christian faith seems vulnerable when confronted with this fearful reality, for there are many who question the reason for so much suffering, considering God is the midst of His people, in the person of His Son. However, the project of Jesus Christ, which is condensed in the proclamation and in the fulfilment of God’s Kingdom, goes on in its mission, laying the basis of a new peaceful brotherhood of men and women. Under this guidance, the human being rises as something of primary importance, in every and each aspect that matters, including religion, as it is stated in the parable of the good Samaritan or in the context of Matheus 25, about the final judgment. Christian salvation is eschatological in nature; however, it commences in this life. Taking into consideration the anthropological mediation, through which the human face is preserved, an endless source of learning in our world, this call for papers aims at raising reflections and debates about the role of Christianity in our current society, in the hope of living under an authentic Christian mystic.
