This article results of a talk at the table entitled “Theologies and Ideologies” of the First Joseph Comblin Journey, in a joint venture between PUC-SP and UNICAP, starts from a preliminary definition of ideology, worked by Marilena Chauí (1941) in Karl Marx’s track (1818-1883). It then opens space to our theologist’s subtlety at the analysis of the ideologies that permeated three significant moments of his life, in which he criticizes religious ideology, political ideology, and economical ideology, although in stressing one of them he does not exclude the influence that one of them exerts upon another. At last, it presents Joseph Comblin's life and work as a critical ontology of the present, in Foucault's words, and the way of being in truth withdrawing the masks from the ideologies that make an effort to close our eyes to a wider reading of the reality.Downloads
