Abstract

The Christian communities of the first centuries they share the idea that the Ecclesia was a multiple national body and ordained by a theology under construction, made up of local communities. The words “orthodox” and “Catholic” are not just names, so little an addendum or supplement, but the essence that mirrors what the faithful thought of you. Used interchangeably in the First Millennium by East and West, the adjectives “orthodox” and “Catholic” from the first schisms, were applied more accurately to express identifications. The term ‘Catholic’ in the classic, universal Greek, was used as a noun and adjective and specify one of the important notes ECCLESIA This article aims, to clarify the concepts of ‘Orthodoxy, Catholicism, unity and schism’ in the light Eastern theology, ecumenism transpose for a contemporary interpretation, the meaning of common concepts between the Orthodox Churches and Catholic, in view of the resumption of the theological dialogue, initiated after the Tomos Agape, between the Eastern and Western exponents of the same Ecclesia Universa.
