Abstract

The Ar ticle SÃO PAULO IN CENTURY XIX - INITIATIVE OF THE REFORMATION wants to be the reading of the São Paulo Society in Century XIX and the understanding of the present Church in São Paulo and its Initiatives for the Reformation. How lived economically the São Paulo population and which age its source of subsistence? How it was the relation of the Society with the Church? What it represented for São Paulo the cycle of the coffee? What it moved with the massive entrance of Italian immigrants in the fields? Which the relation of the immigrants with the Church? I conclude that, in this historical period, the Paulopolitana Church organized its ecclesiastical pictures. It straight applied the Doctrine and Disciplina and searched adjusted ways to become efficient the presence of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
