Abstract

This article was to focus on the Vatican and the laity in the Church, showing historical context, the ecclesial perspective in relation to the laity from Vatican II and relevant points when context as Lumen Gentium, Apostolicam Actuositatem, Gaudium et spes and Ad Gentes. Through a literature review has been studies and theories which served as a support for the conclusion of this article which showed that through the considerations made about positioning taken by the Church, from Vatican II, in relation to the laity, we can say that these are not only invited to the apostolate, but have, in addition to the right, the duty to participate in the Church’s evangelizing mission, by virtue of baptism that incorporates the Christ and the Church.
