Abstract

The approach between theologyand literature has been commingjust from a long time in the brasiliantheology institutions, giving a securehermeneuthic base for this work. Theactual text deals with the relation betweentheology and literature from aview point of Erico Verissimo´s "Umcerto Capitão Rodrigo". The affirmationof the value of liberty and the importanceof the commitment done bythose text can be an important fieldfor the dialogue between a literary artand the reflection of the faith.
