Abstract

This article analyses a number of biblical texts which tell of the presence of Holy Spirit in the life and mission of Mary. First of all this article emphasizes the presence of the Holy Spirit in the Incarnation. At the Annunciation, the Holy Spirit Mary covers with its shadow, so that it is born the Son of God, the Savior of Mankind. Mary was also present on the day of Pentecosts, when the community of disciples got together with Mary in prayer, the Holy Spirit gave birth to the Church.

Padre Pedro K. Iwashita, CSSp, é Professor titular da Faculdade de Teologia Nossa Senhora da Assunção e chefe do Departamento de Teologia Fundamental da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC/SP). Doutorado em Teologia Dogmática pela Universidade de Fribourg, Suiça.
