Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the encounter between the risen Christ and Mary Magdalene next to the tomb, first day of the week. The passage narrated in the Gospel of St. John still raved about the Christological mystery of the resurrection, theme of the entire chapter 20 of that Gospel. In the Risen and by Him shows the Christological event of the Ascension which opens Pentecost perspective. The appearance of the Risen Lord and his Ascension illuminate the final action of the passage: the sending of Mary Magdalene to announce for the disciples the Lord’s vision and the divine filiation conquered by Christ.
