Abstract

This article aims to present, through a historiographical approach, some aspects of the utmost importance on the Medieval Inquisition. For that aims to contextualize the situation that gave rise and development of this historical event, ie the socio-politico-religious provoked the Inquisition. This analysis seeks to penetrate the interior of the problems that originated and agitated state action and the Church. In this way, it presents the heresy, witchcraft, and every course conducted during criminal proceedings, even the punishments and convictions, and the main countries that have experienced this historic period.
