Abstract

The artcle reviews the book of Job proposing a reading that pervade the process of prior analysis of the historical context of its emergence and thus the narrative from observing the characteristics of the time of its drafting the message catechetical tensioned by the author to the Jewish people. In this process it is possible to notice that among the issues in the book is a reflection on the selfserving religion from the Theology of Retribution pointing to a free religious practice. In a time of hope to return from exile of the people become frustrated in the dream of restoring the face of adversity faced external and internal. The author wishes to carry a message to a people caught in the middle to the failure of his hopes to not rely on the abandonment not rely of God and not the sign of his blessing based on wealth, but realize their love in through the storm that brings conviction to live well even when not everything can be anticipated and answered. One should love God simply because he is kind and the blessing is simply the fact that fear the Lord.
