Abstract

This paper develops a philosophical approach to Christian on the dignity of human person, the thought of John Paul II: a discussion that addresses the key issues about the nature, condition and value of the person and their relationship with themselves, with others and with the transcendent, that is, man in his relationships and integral. The text begins with a historical and cultural conception of the human person; presents the foundations of the thought of John Paul II, and highlights the major contributions about the reality of the person, particularly a speculation about the origin, nature, purpose, redemption, and self-realization of the human person. In short, a reflection that is rooted in human beings and the secure foundations of human dignity, based on the contributions given in the documents and speeches of Pope John Paul II.
