Maria, a mulher e a missão

Abstract

This article presents a testimony of a medical doctor, who is woman and a lay missionary who has worked in Guinea Conakry, Africa, reflecting about the Blessed Virgin, as woman, and her role in the mission, as a missionary disciple of Jesus Christ. Poverty in Guinea is immense, people starve there, nevertheless the experience of mission shows, that our happiness doesn’t depend on either material goods nor even personal comfort, because to be a missionary is a grace of God, and to put our professional and human abilities at the service of people who need them the most is a source of personal realization and joy. Mary, as disciple and missionary can be our model in following the steps of Jesus Christ.
