Abstract

The present work looks into the arising and the main characteristics of the Athenian democracy that, emphasized by Pericles’s government, made Athens reach, in the 5th century B.C., the highest degree of political stability, recorded in its history, reflecting in prosperity in the most several fields of the Athenian society.
