Mary, the feminine archetype in Church: a reading of Chapter VIII of Lumen Gentium

In this article, we highlight Mary as the feminine archetype for the Church, through a concise overview of the main mariological themes, from Chapter VIII of Lumen Gentium. Here are some keys to this thematic synthesis-shaped projections or forward-looking, leaving the way clear that much remains to be done. We consider the context in Mariology, punctuating the need for a development of mariological thought regarding emerging issues in liberating perspective, keeping in view, especially, indigenous issues, racial, female (woman), popular religiosity and ecumenical question. It concludes with a five-looking statement nucleation, in order to focus on the priority interests of a Mariology to respond more faithfully to human yearnings.Downloads
