The metaphysics “conflict” of Xavier Zubiri’s reality

(Re)opening the intramundane horizon

Abstract

Thinking and Philosophy have created a discord arena instead the agora in the global polis. The society in crisis fought off inventing “new scientific knowledges”, but they still have the fundaments on the same conceptual principles they criticized trying to bury the Metaphysics. Phenomenology and Quantic Physics started using the descriptive method leaving in the background the explanatory one; human experience is before concepts and theories. The 20^th century was a time of great questionings, inventions, and progress, but also wars and inequalities. Xavier Zubiri lived in that insecure and creative century, did not just repeat, or append conceptive knowledges and identified, as root of his time’s problem, the dualism between human reality and the representative forms of the real; attempting to enrich the essence representational and subjective forms came about. He had the radical inspiration that reality is before being. In that inspiration, along with Sciences, the Spanish Philosopher provoked the turning point of conceptive Philosophy: from ideas to real, from representing the real to presenting it; he opened the path to a metaphysic knowledge of real in a sentient way indicating an intramundane horizon, real and sentient where man should not have left from.
