DEATH AS REMEMBRANCE IN AFFECTION.
PHENOMENOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THE DEATH OF POPE FRANCIS.

The objective of this article is to phenomenologically analyze the death of Pope Francis as a phenomenon of affectionate remembrance. This objective can be justified in three ways. The first refers to Heidegger's hermeneutic phenomenology, as it makes it possible to think of death as a phenomenon of the concrete experience of life, in which the possibilities inherent in life are anticipated. For this reason, death is a phenomenon denoting life lived, an experience of vital facticity, and an expression of the meaning of life.The second aspect corresponds to the death of Pope Francis as a phenomenon conceived as a personal manifestation with social, media, and ecclesial repercussions that elicited tears, lamentations, gratitude, and hopes.The third aspect corresponds to the meaning of the death of a Pope who, phenomenologically, represented a life project for the Catholic Church and for humanity. To achieve this objective, Heidegger's hermeneutic phenomenology will be presented in its fundamental structure in order to clarify the type of analysis to be conducted regarding the death of Pope Francis. Then, the death of Pope Francis and its repercussions will be phenomenologically analyzed, highlighting the significant impact of this event. At the end, the meaning of Francis’ death as a life project for the Catholic Church and humanity will be presented, using phenomenological generalization as a tool to understand this meaning.
