The catholic occupant of high-ranking public office in light of the Canonical Code

The author analyzes the Canon 225, §2nd of the Code of Canon Law of 1983 and demonstrates how the public employee being a catholic can imbue and perfect the temporal orders with the spirit of the Gospel when practicing the so called “discretionary act”. The article is divided in three parts: 1) the role of the layman; 2) the work of the public emplyoee being a catholic, and 3) some hypothetical situations in which the public employee being a catholic can act.Downloads
