The influence of European religion in Brazilian culture From magic religion to criticize religion

Abstract

The current profile of religion in Brazil is the result of an ancient eastern tradition and of the inheritance of the old branch of Christianity, spread in three forms: Latin, French and German. The differentiation of the three forms is due to the development of European catholic powers in the world, through markets, army, politics, religion and culture that spread all over the world and influenced Africa an Asia since the second half of XV century onwards. In the following century they reached America, changing the previous habits. The Iberian expansion had a significant role in this process. This paper presents the results of a research that deals with the European religious influence, the common sense of Indian and African cultures the current Brazilian culture.
