Clinical conceptions on phonoaudiology: relation with medicine and psycho
Abstract
In November, 1988, the PUC-SP Graduation Course on Communication Disorders held debates under the very title of this paper. The subtitle, however, reveals my own interpretation of the subject. When I was asked to participate in this debate, together with professor Suzana Magalhães Maia, professor Mauro Spinelli and with professor Luiz Augusto de Paula Souza, I chose to focus my attention on questions of epistemological character which, I believe, the subject naturally implies. Thus, through a critical approach relating clinical medicine and clinical psychoanalysis I tried to reflect opn clinical phonoaudiology from the point of view of unbridled technicism (a heritage of the medical model?) and also from the point of view of grotesque humanism (lack of psychoanalytical heritage?), not claiming at grotesque depth and-or unbridled hypothesis.Downloads
