Relations between the educational development and the etiology of hearing impairement: a prelimi

Abstract

Papers on the influence of etiology on the educational development of deaf children can be found in the literature. This research was made with a group of preschool children that are enrolled in IESP-DERDIC-PUCSP school for deaf children. The authors did not find any relation between the educational development and the etiology of deafness. They found a great incidence of deafness caused by rubella during pregnancy.
