Abstract

Since the computadorized vectonystagmography developed by Neurograff Eletromedicina Ind. & Com. Ltda, has been modified to make the evaluation more sensitive, it became necessary the development of new researches about the tests parameters. The goal of this study was to verify if the parameters and normality references at oculographic and vestibular tests are the same, in comparison with the program before the modifications accomplished. Therefore, thirty– two healthy subjects with ages between 18 to 40 years have been submitted to the battery tests that are part of this examination. It was found statistic difference at gain at smooth-pursuit test at the frequencies of 0,2 and 0,4 Hz and gain, medium angular vesvelocity of the slow component of the nystagmus and medium directional superiority of the nystagmus at the optokinetic nystagmus, nystagmus angular velocity in lateral and vertical semicircular canal at rotatory test with rotational chair and real angular velocity of the nystagmus at caloric test. It was possible to conclude that changes at the normality values at the tests where significant statistics differences had been found are necessary to guarantee the trustworthy and precision of the vestibular examination.
